Our mission

Knowledge is scattered. Lorebow connects it.

Most of what we learn arrives as disconnected facts: a formula here, a recipe there, a command, a travel tip, a line from a book. The useful moments come when two of those facts touch, and most sources never let them.

Lorebow is a set of practical guides where every page links to the ideas it depends on. It isn't only about software: it covers anything worth knowing, from science and money to health, food, travel and books, because understanding one thing well usually explains something else.

Our vision

One map for everything worth understanding.

Lorebow covers anything worth understanding. Software came first because it's what we knew best, then science, money and travel. Health, psychology, books and film, food and sport are next, and the list doesn't stop there.

The aim is simple: whatever you're curious about, start on any page and follow the links into any field.

Our values

Four rules we write by.

  1. Link everything

A page that stands alone is half an explanation. Every guide links to what it depends on, and every link is drawn on the map.

  2. Show it running

Commands type themselves out and diagrams move step by step. If something moves, we show it moving.

  3. Be honest about the map

We only list what we have written. Topics still in progress are marked that way, with no filler pages.

  4. Respect the reader

Plain words, fast pages, full keyboard support and reduced motion when you ask for it.

The l and the o of the name joined into one stroke, which also makes a b, with a spark where the loop closes.

Why it's called Lorebow.

Lore is the knowledge people pass on about any subject: why a recipe works, how a system really behaves, the mistake everyone makes once, the shortcut nobody wrote down.

A bow ties loose threads into one. Lorebow does the same for knowledge: each idea gets a page of its own, and every page is tied to the ones it builds on.

The mark joins the l and the o into one stroke, which also forms the b.

The stem
Learning starts from one point and builds, one idea after another.
The loop
It curves back to meet what you already know.
The spark
Where the two meet, it clicks. Every page is written for that moment.

From a folder to a map.

  1. June 2026

    The first notes

A private folder of notes, written so we wouldn't forget what we'd learned.

  2. August 2026

    Words weren't enough

Notes turned into diagrams that step through what happens, and commands that type themselves out.

  3. September 2026

    The map

Every page started recording what it links to, so the whole site could be drawn as one map.

  4. October 2026

    A name, and a launch

The site became Lorebow, lore tied together, and opened with its first topic in software.
